He doesn't really know what he is doing here.
No, that's not right, he knows.
Nothing, he's doing nothing, that's the reason why he came here in the first place.
To get away from it all.
Shoots, re-shoots, promotional stints, interviews.
A never-stopping loop, movie after movie.
Until it started to feel too much.
Too much of Sean the actor, too little of Sean the man.
Until it started to feel like he would gladly give all the money he was making to have time just for himself, away from it all.
Time...
Time for reading, for tending a garden, for music, for soccer, for watching the clouds chase across the sky, for being just himself...
He barely remembered who Sean was.
Then one day someone approached him. Told him there was a place where he could be just that, and at the same time be Sean Bean the actor.
One would be in one world, one would be in the other.
But he might find that other world spooky, he was warned.
He might find strange people walking that world, people that were not real in the other world.
Sean said that wouldn't bother him, he was used to having people that were not real around him.
And so he got here.
No, that's not right, he knows.

He smiles, lines of fatigue fanning out at the corners of his eyes.
"I don't seem to have a thirst for drink tonight, but company would be welcome."
He stops right before adding Brendan.

He looks at the other man. "You from 'round these parts?" He has a strangely disturbing feeling and can't quite pinpoint what it is, and battles with his urge to stare, instead distracting himself with making sure each time he spins the square coast that one of the corners is what impacts the surface of the bar.

"I'm Sean, by the way.."

"My pleasure, Brendan.." he smiles back. "Tell me something about yourself, what brought you here, what you are looking for.."

"Came down here to see if it had changed much, as last time I was here there were a lotta rumblin's, people lookin' t' change t' be more like 'America'," he said, his mind recalling the night that everything had indeed changed. "It almost did."
He took a deep breath and released it, reaching for his beer again. "Anyway, came down 'ere lookin' for an old friend, an employer, used to own a club," he said. "'e and I 'ad similar taste in music, and he taught me ... stuff." He took another mouthful of the dark beer, as he recalled Finney, and some of the 'lessons'. "But it don't look like he's 'ere any more," he trailed off.

I'm an olg geezer who's still listening to the big hits of the Seventies and Eighties, those songs sort of feel like an old comfort blanket to me. They have a beginning, they build up, they end. I never truly could understand where a jazz piece is trying to lead me. But then I guess I never had someone to show me the way of it..."

Snatches of music filter now and then through the noise made by the people crowding the bar, an old number with someone begging Johnny to come home. "Stuff for oldies discos and pubs," he winks at Brendan, mocking himself.

Take the time to re-discover you, I can assure you it is worth the effort, and even though many would call it a lost of time. I would say go for it, and dare enjoy a little more your life.

And for her to leave me some money to leave with too! And pamper them a little *chuckles and shakes head* You must have gone through that yourself, I bet.
Regarding coffee, I belive tuesday is tomorrow, I am kinda lost when it comes to days too. Let me cheeck. *reaches over to get calendar and checks dates* Yeah, tomorrow is Tuesday for me. If it suits you, we could meet in the coffee place we used to go when we filmed Troy? The small one? Say, *Eric thinks for a little while of the things he has to do during his day* 5pm? Same booth we used with the guys?
Let me know, you have my number *smiles and winks*
